NXG Truck Bodies Hosts Northeast Texas Community College Work4College Students

NXG Truck Bodies recently welcomed students from Northeast Texas Community College’s Work4College program for a visit to our Mount Pleasant facility, giving them an inside look at one of the city’s newest and fastest-growing manufacturers.

The visit was part of Work4College’s mission to help students gain real-world experience while building life skills that prepare them for long-term success. Through the program, students work on campus while also participating in classes and experiences designed to expose them to practical skills, professional expectations, and opportunities available in the workforce.

For many of the students, the visit offered more than just a facility tour. It was a chance to see firsthand what modern manufacturing looks like, what a growing company can accomplish, and what it takes to become part of a team that is building something meaningful.

At NXG, we were proud to share our story, our process, and the mindset behind what we do every day. From hard work and accountability to attention to detail and pride in the finished product, the visit reflected many of the same values that help drive our company forward.

The Work4College program serves students from a wide range of backgrounds, including participants from across the United States and around the world. For many, programs like this provide valuable exposure to American industry and the many career paths available in communities like Mount Pleasant.

Their motto says it well: Work. Serve. Learn. Earn.

That message aligns closely with the kind of real-world development that matters, not just in education, but in business and in life. Teaching students how to show up, work hard, communicate well, and understand employer expectations creates a stronger workforce and a stronger future for everyone.

We appreciate Northeast Texas Community College for including NXG Truck Bodies as part of this experience and for investing in the next generation through a program that blends education, responsibility, and opportunity.

At NXG, we believe strong communities are built by creating real opportunities, sharing knowledge, and helping young people see what is possible.

NXG Truck Bodies Supports Local Students and Agricultural Education Initiatives

NXG Truck Bodies continues to invest in local communities and the development of future skilled-trade professionals through hands-on educational support and industry engagement. Recently, the company partnered with students Kayson Marek and Trevor Williams during their custom truck bed build, a project completed as part of their Ag Mechanics and FFA coursework.

As part of the collaboration, the students were invited to tour the NXG Truck Bodies manufacturing facility, where they received firsthand exposure to real-world production environments and professional fabrication techniques. The visit provided an opportunity to observe day-to-day shop operations, learn about advanced truck body construction, and receive direct guidance from experienced industry professionals.

Company leadership emphasized the value of experiential learning, noting that time spent on an active manufacturing floor offers practical insight that cannot be replicated in a traditional classroom setting. Exposure to professional workflows, equipment, and safety practices helps students better understand the expectations and opportunities within skilled trades.

NXG Truck Bodies also recognized the mentors and supporters who played a key role in the students’ progress. Eric Kale, Hico FFA Advisor, was acknowledged for his leadership and continued commitment to agricultural education, along with Kurt Marek for his support throughout the duration of the project.

Supporting Ag Mechanics programs, FFA initiatives, and hands-on technical education remains closely aligned with NXG Truck Bodies’ core values. By investing in students today, the company aims to strengthen the workforce pipeline and contribute to the long-term growth of the manufacturing and transportation industries.

NXG Truck Bodies expressed pride in the students’ accomplishments and gratitude for the opportunity to contribute to their educational journey.
